If you're here to replace your GM paddle shifters, you're in the right place. These instructions are for after you've removed the OEM paddle shifters. Although you can do this without removing your steering wheel, it will be much harder.
The tools you will need are the following:
Needle Nose Pliers
Large Paper Clip
One of the first steps we you will need to do is to push on the shifter paddle to expose the paddle pin.
The pin will look like this.
Use a large paper clip to push the pin out from the nontoothed side. Once halfway out, use needle nose pliers to fully remove it. Pull the paddle and sensor out slowly to note how they are assembled.
Once you separate the sensor will look like this.
The next step is to remove the Silicone Pin from the paddle side
You can remove it easily with the large paperclip
Put the pin in the new carbon fiber paddle. Make sure you do this otherwise your paddle will not work.
Install the sensor into the new paddle. Ensure the slots on the right of the spring align and fit with the slots on the new paddle. Also, confirm the spring is correctly positioned, or the paddle won't spring back.
Lastly while holding the paddle and the sensor together with your fingers, you can now slip and push the pin back into the holes to lock both in place.
Now paddle is ready to install in the steering wheel.
